Couple of new styles from Levi’s Vintage collection

1966 606 Black overdyed1966 606 Black Overdye

”The 606® Jean was first introduced in the late 1960s for a new generation of Levi’s® fans that were looking for slimmer and more stylish fits that wouldn’t break the bank. It is widely considered to be the original skinny-fitting jean. Like other Levi’s® Jeans with the Orange Tab, the 606® was made using Line 8 construction, a simple and more cost-effective method that involved fewer steps. It had bar tacks instead of copper rivets, a zip fly instead of buttons, a single thread color, a leather-like patch with black ink, copper shanks, seven belt loops, a double fell seam and long, lean back pockets.

Like other Levi’s® Vintage Clothing Orange Tab garments, it’s made in the USA using period-correct materials, details and construction techniques. In partnership with Cone Mills—the producers of the Orange Tab denims back in the 60s and 70s—Levi’s® Vintage Clothing first recreates the exact 14oz preshrunk open-end denim by sourcing the correct yarns, using the exact pure indigo shade and weaving the fabric on the same looms. The jeans are then constructed using the same technique and the original pattern. Finally, all of the details are added to the garment including the big “E” orange tab on the back right pocket and period-correct packaging.”

These 606′s are also available in raw, unwashed blue.

Gayway shirt

Gayway shirt

”This Archival shirt was originally produced in 1939 for the Golden Gate International Exposition, the San Francisco edition of the World’s Fair. During an exciting time of progress in the Bay Area, the World’s Fair was held on Treasure Island as a celebration of the recent completion of the Oakland Bay Bridge and the Golden Gate Bridge, two of the area’s most prized landmarks. Named after the mile-long circular boulevard lined with roller coasters, games, and live shows, the Gayway Souvenir Shirt was sold as a souvenir depicting many of the views from Treasure Island, including the Golden Gate Bridge. This 100% plain weave cotton shirt functions like a collage of post cards, freezing a moment of history in five-color prints. The short sleeve regular fit shirt features a large collar, one welt pocket on the chest, a straight hem, large shell buttons and a Gayway label.”

Long sleeve shirt

1960′s Long sleeve shirt

”Psychedelic patterns from the 1960’s and western animal prints collide in these two designs inspired by this archival 1960’s Long Sleeve Shirt. The black and white zebra patterned 1960‘s Long Sleeve Shirt features a button down collar, one chest pocket, and matching zebra buttons. The ecru brown and cream cow patterned 1960’s Long Sleeve shirt also has a button down collar and one chest pocket, but features natural brown horn buttons–each one unique.”

1960's striped tee

1960′s Striped tee

”In the swinging, techni-color 1960s Levi’s® began to evolve the plain white tee by introducing simple jersey cotton shirts in a rainbow of colors and striped patterns. The Levi’s® Vintage Clothing 1960s Striped Tee is a slim, neat and tidy jersey cotton T-shirt with a high neckline and a chest pocket. Each season, it is offered in a selection of exciting stripe patterns that reflect the palette of the seasonal collection.”
