adidas Consortium is the statement sneaker concept by adidas Originals. It was created to showcase the brand’s heritage, today’s premium Originals footwear offer and is a tool to push new ideas and silhouettes. adidas Consortium provides a unique and limited product range for a special consumer type – from the core sneaker collector to a more fashion related sneaker consumer. It is exclusively distributed in around 80 stores worldwide, covering the core of global leading sneaker boutiques as well as selected trend and fashion doors.
In 2005 Consortium was initiated as part of the Superstar 35 series, on the one hand in order to build an even stronger relationship to adidas’ closest friends and most influential sneaker retailers at that time, on the other hand to enable them to work on limited and special projects with the brand.
Ever since Consortium is the highest and most limited level of product and distribution within Originals. Its base has been and will always be the idea of collaboration in true sense of the word: a combined work project of two equal partners to demonstrate mutual respect of each others brand and work. Therefore the handshake logo is literally the definition of Consortium.
Sneaker Exchange is the ongoing theme for the year 2017 And this Saturday the 28th is going to be the release date for the first Sneaker Exchange release and the First ever Adidas Consortium release in Beamhill!
Parisian store Colette, which has been one of Europe’s it stores for design, art, culture and fashion for close to 18 years, have come together with Los Angeles UNDEFEATED, one of the most recognized brands in the world within sneaker community, for the first installment of the much anticipated ’Sneaker Exchange.’ Both brands are renown for their approach to collaboration, inviting some of the most influential creatives in the world to co-create products, this time, with adidas at the core.
In this first installment of adidas Consortium’s most ambitious collaboration series to date, we see influence from Paris and Los Angeles on the EQT Support and Campus 80. The Sneaker Exchange is about beautiful footwear foremost, but it also establishes a platform to ponder the ideas of time, distance and their changing role in the modern world. It is just this combination that both parties draw inspiration from here, the concept of playing with opposites.
The pack includes a Campus 80 and EQT. The Campus 80 has a white high-quality leather upper, an off white rubber sole with royal blue lacing and heel. The EQT support is the moodier, night time counterpart. The sole, too, is off-white but dark navy and deep blue shades dominate the models’ upper.
