adidas Consortium and German sneaker boutique Solebox join forces on a duo of collaborative models this month, putting premium materials and expert construction to create elevated takes on the Quesence and Pureboost DPR silhouettes.
Inspired by the craftsmanship of Italian leatherworkers, the collaboration sees one classic and one performance model recontextualized through the use of premium suedes and leathers throughout their construction, while vegetable-tanned accents tip their hat to the release’s artisanal inspirations.
First up, the Quesence puts its retro, paneled construction to good use, showcasing luxury leathers throughout its design. A perforated suede upper is reinforced with suede and nubuck overlays, with vegetable-tanned details providing subtle accents to the design. Most notable to the design is the shoe’s full leather heel stabilizer, a subtle reference to traditional shoe design featuring adidas trefoil branding, countered by solebox branding on the heel panel. This is then rounded off with full leather lining, leather branding details on the tongue and a crisp rubber sole.
Next, the Pureboost DPR steps forth, featuring a two-tone circular knit upper across the toebox, countered with premium nubuck panels across the eyestay, tongue and heel. Vegetable-tanned leather accents on the heel and tongue add contrast to the shoe’s soft, tonal design, finished with embroidered 3-stripes, a Boost™ midsole, full leather lining and an embossed branding detail on the heel.
