    Karhu is a athletic footwear brand founded in 1916 in Helsinki, Finland. Originally producing sports equipment like skis and javelins, the brand evolved into a running shoe specialist and gained early fame by outfitting legendary Finnish distance runners. Over the decades, Karhu became known for its focus on performance and innovation, introducing technologies tailored to natural movement and comfort. Its signature "M" logo stands for Mestari, the Finnish word for "champion," reflecting its deep roots in competitive sport.
